Tej Kohli Biography and Family
Born on August 17th, 1958 in New Delhi, India to Dr. S.M.S. Kohli and Gurcharan Kohli, Tej Kohli grew up in less than ideal conditions. Through hard work and sheer perseverance, he’s managed to overcome many adversities and has used his success to help children facing similar underprivileged environments.
Kohli first showed signs for technological prowess at a young age where his gifted nature led him to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology. He graduated with honors, earning a Degree in Electrical Engineering, and soon left his native land to seek better opportunities in America.
Foreseeing the power of the Internet, Mr. Kohli created Grafix Software, one of the first companies to integrate all phases of online brand development. Grafix created a comprehensive suite of design services, online marketing tools and interactive software, quickly gaining a reputation amongst its clientele as a ‘one-stop shop’ for getting a business successfully online. With the growth of e-Commerce in the late 1990s, Grafix developed innovative gateway software for e-payments and sales administration. In just a few years, Grafix became one of the top e-business consulting and Internet marketing firms in the world.
With a strong customer base in South America, Grafix moved its headquarters to San Jose, Costa Rica where it continues to forge new ground in emerging technologies and new media. In 2009, the company expanded into Asia and opened an office in Gurgaon, India.
The company most recently announced new software initiatives in the South American online gaming market and introduced the Grafix Visitor Tracker, a sophisticated tracking solution that visualizes user’s behavior in real time.
Philanthropy
Given the struggles he endured as a child growing up in India, Kohli vowed that one day he’d help others break free of the vicious cycle of poverty. His many philanthropic interests include The Tej Kohli Foundation, funded solely by Mr. Kohli. The foundation provides education resources for underprivileged children in Costa Rica, giving them the opportunity to explore and realize their innate potential.
In 2010, Mr. Kohli embarked on a corneal replacement program in his native land. With over 14 million people blind, India has the largest population of blind persons in the world. As many 2 million children could benefit from corneal transplants, but surgery alone is not the solution. There is a lack of well-trained surgeons and nurses, poorly equipped clinical facilities, unreliable eye bank facilities, and inconsistent long-term care. Mr. Kohli is planning to launch his first clinic this year to combat this terrible travesty.
Real Estate
Successful in Real Estate development himself, Mr. Kohli found Ozone Real Estate to help its share holders take advantage of the real estate boom in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The company provides expertise in real estate development, investments, sales and marketing management. Ozone Real Estate has identified the finest real estate properties on the planet including Tameer Towers, A1 Business Tower and is developing Cassi-bay Tower, one of the few Freehold Properties on Al Reen Island. Ozone’s agents have extensive experience in providing services in sales, leasing and investments that have provided financial success for many of its clientele.
