The Tej Kohli Foundation, founded three years ago by Tej Kohli,a noted entrepreneur from Costa Rica has announced plans to expand its current efforts in the educational support and financial aid of the underprivileged children of northwest Costa Rica. The Guan caste region of Costa Rica, with its immaculate beaches and rain forests is a dichotomy of extreme wealth and poverty. Tej Kohli has spent a lot of time in these surroundings so it was only natural that he would decide to do something about some of Costa Rica’s most needy kids. At this time, the foundation helps seventy-five children with their dietary and educational needs, and in some cases their lodging.
One only has to speak with some of the parents of these kids to see how much they appreciate the work of the Foundation. Hector Pineda, father of Jose, an eight-year-old third grader from Nicoya, was thrilled to finally meet Tej Kohli, “Before the foundation was here to help us, it was very hard for Jose to make it to school every day. We thank God every day for Mr. Kohli.” As Mr. Pineda watched his son play with some of the other children present that day, his benefactor only smiled.
Tej Kohli is very proud of the Foundation’s work and plans to help more children of the Guan caste region. “We feel that this is the right time to expand the Kohli Foundation to include all of Costa Rica.” Tej Kohli also proposed a multi-part plan, with details to be announced soon, outlining the Foundation’s move into other parts of South America, and eventually the rest of the world.
